Nkulee Dube, Lucky Dube's daughter was the first artist in history to be nominated six times at The International Reggae And World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in 2012 and she was only 27 (The Biggest Award Ceremony for Reggae Music)
She was nominated for Best Female Vocalist, Best Song, Best Album, Best Video, Best New Entertainer and Most Promising Entertainer. Damian Marley, Third World, Queen Ifrika, Stephen Marley, Ziggy Marley had three nominations each.
Apart from winning "The Most Promising Entertainer" she was also presented with an award for being the first artiste to be nominated six times since the award show began 31 years ago.
The event was held at the Washington Park in Chicago and the award list featured big international stars like Akon, Rihanna, Pitbull and Beenie Man.
Nkulee also performed with her idol, female reggae singjay, Tanya Stephens of "It is a Pity fame" on the night.
Tanya Stephens was quoted saying "wow! I didn't know that there was a female talent like that in Africa."
