United Nation to help Nigeria overcome insecurity, envoy pledges




Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Africa, Mahamat Annadif has said insecurity happening in Nigeria and other West African countries were the spill over of the Libyan crisis.


This is as he called for a serious regional approach to fight the security challenges.

He, however, pledged that the United Nations would help the Nigerian Army overcome insecurity in the country and  the suspected terrorism financers.

This was contained in a statement titled, ‘UN to partner Nigeria Army in tackling security challenges -UN Envoy’ by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu on Thursday night.

Saled was said to have visited the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, alongside the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in West Africa and the Sahel, Francois Fall, in Abuja.

In his remarks, the COAS noted that countries across the globe were currently confronted with terrorism and other security challenges peculiar to each nation.
